Occupational Therapist, Help Build a New Allied Health Practice in Canberra A growing allied health start-up is seeking an Occupational Therapist to help establish and shape a new service. The caseload is predominantly neurodivergent clients (core 18–40, with a growing 12–18 cohort), focused on functional and sensory assessments , regulation, and meaningful 1:1 interventions. This role suits a self-driven clinician who enjoys building systems, collaborating closely, and influencing the model of care from day one. At a Glance Salary: $85,000 – $130,000 Super Bonus Work model: Hub-based with flexibility for WFH; community work as services expand Employment type: Full-time (start date flexible for the right person) KPIs: No KPIs for start-up period Tools of trade: Phone and laptop provided Benefits Shape a start-up service: influence processes, resources, pathways and culture Flexible start times and location; WFH available where appropriate Strong career pathways with input into future service lines Tailored induction with shadowing, structured onboarding and team time Supportive therapy lead (Physiotherapist, 20 years) with access to external senior OT supervision Admin support for diary management to reduce non-clinical load About the Role Deliver functional and sensory assessments , goal-oriented interventions, and regulation strategies The majority hub-based initially, split between clinic and community to evolve with demand Manage a mixed caseload of neurodivergent clients experiencing behavioural and participation barriers Tailor clinical focus around personal interests as programs grow Collaborate with a small, passionate team that values initiative, high standards and genuine teamwork What They’re Looking For? A confident OT with experience across mixed caseloads (paediatrics/young adults advantageous) Strengths in sensory processing, behaviour/regulation and functional assessment High initiative, adaptability and interest in service development within a start-up context Alignment with mental health-informed practice and multidisciplinary collaboration Support & Supervision Day-to-day guidance from an experienced therapy lead (20 years) Access to outsourced senior OT supervision for discipline-specific growth Induction includes shadowing, process reviews, client meet-and-greets, and protected team time Interested?
